Participants will learn how to use the Guide’s transparent, performance-based framework in real projects to reflect community priorities while improving safety for all users. Designed for local agencies and transportation professionals, the workshop focuses on practical application for everyday project work.
Participants will:
Use the research to identify safe designs for all modes
Compare and evaluate cross‑section alternatives, including key tradeoffs
Assess 24‑hour traffic operations to understand multimodal and operational impacts
Gain familiarity with the NCHRP decision‑making tools developed and implemented through NCHRP 1036 and the ongoing NCHRP 20‑44(52) implementation effort
