The Central Oregon Series on Transportation (COST) is a seminar series intended to promote professional development and advancements in Transportation Engineering and Planning in Central Oregon.
Lee Rodegerdts, a Principal Engineer with Kittelson and Associates, will present on a life cycle cost evaluation tool that was developed by NCHRP 03-110. The tool uses project costs and characteristics to help an analyst estimate how construction costs, operational effects, safety impacts, and other costs affect overall life cycle costs of intersection or roadway improvement projects.
Sign-in & networking begins at 11:45 am, and the presentation will start at noon. Drinks and cookies will be provided. Please bring your own bag lunch. If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Ashleigh Ludwig at 541.312.8300.
We hope you can join us!
Lee Rodegerdts, PE, Principal Engineer with Kittelson & Associates, Inc.
Lee has over 23 years of experience in traffic operations, traffic design, transportation planning, and transportation research and education. He has developed significant experience with roundabouts and signalized intersections at both the research and practical implementation level, which provides him with unique insights into comparisons between the two forms of control. Lee served as Principal Investigator for several major research projects, including FHWA TOPR 34, Accelerating the Implementation of Roundabouts in the US; NCHRP Project 03-110, Estimating the Life-Cycle Costs of Intersection Designs; NCHRP Report 772, Evaluating the Performance of Corridors with Roundabouts; and NCHRP Report 672, Roundabouts: An Informational Guide, Second Edition. He has served as a key co-author for several other documents of national importance, including lead author for five chapters on unsignalized intersections for the 2010 edition and 6th Edition of TRB’s Highway Capacity Manual. Lee has conducted feasibility studies or peer reviews for over 100 roundabouts, retimed more than 275 signalized intersections, and conducted feasibility studies and peer reviews for hundreds of intersections and interchanges. He has taught over 70 professional short courses on highway capacity, intersections, roundabouts, and signal timing.
