The 2023 MUTCD and What It Means for Oregon

The 11th Edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) was published in December 2023, about a month after the 88th birthday of the very first edition. A new MUTCD edition comes with a number of important questions. Why was the MUTCD revised? What does this mean for regulations in Oregon? What's new and different compared to the 2009 MUTCD? What risks do I need to be aware of?

Join us on Monday, May 20th to hear from Gene Hawkins, current chair of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD). Gene will highlight what's new in the 2023 MUTCD compared to prior editions, what associated risks you need to understand, and ODOT's planned process for updating their supplement and adopting the new edition. Following Gene's presentation, we invite you to stick around for a happy hour with Gene and the Kittelson team!
